Finished the rest of ES Vol.2
I liked the piano story, though I must say I’m not a fan of playing Chopin since the chords are too large.
I also liked Egao de Aimashou (Let’s Greet Each Other with a Smile).
Peaches are yummy, especially white peaches.

Uh-huh, a bunch of characters who`ve apparently got a few screws loose from playing piano too much and then the fever fetish. As expected, the only good story in the volume was by Fujieda Miyabi… Well, let`s say “Water Garden” gets score for Izumi. Okay, “Glittering Day” gets half score for fluff. ^-^;
Thanks for releasing ES vol.2 XD
The story 1 and story 7 you remind in ENG translation of ES. I just found story 1 at lililious. Story 7, I didn’t find it at dynasty to download @__@
Thanks to Wings of Yuri for this release! ^_^

For any older Dynasty release, see http://afkrotch.com/manga1.htm (as they tell you on the Download page of their site)
@Winterbraid
Hehe, well 1.5/12 for 12.5% is still not a bad score for an anthology.
@Natsuki-MaiHime
Sure, np. Yah, the link by anon has the dynasty story.
@Cuddlyness
You’re welcome!
@anon
Thx for providing the link. =)
Haha, if you`re doing math, then Fujieda`s story in itself is worth at least three points, so that would be 4.5/12. ^-^
Thank you, anon. I have read it before but as RAW. Koume Keito is artist of Uta Kata manga. I really like “Hana no Yurina Gumi” because the story is so cute and fun
Thanks ever so much… I love u guys to keep me lilted :D..but someday I do hope to see some butch-femme manga
..and more in co-ed environment to take off that thing about being wth girls coz theres only girls..
@Chacha-chan: I`m not sure what are you actually looking for, a story about a couple in which one side is simply a bit more assertive, or a relationship that actually meets strict criteria dating back to the first half of the previous century (which don`t really make sense to me)… In first case, I think there are lots of such stuff; in the other case, well…
Lililicious.net is doing “Honey&Honey”, which is an autobiographical view of a butch-femme lesbian couple living in modern Japan, in the form of 4-koma strips. It`s more on the documentary side than fiction, though… hard for me to think of any other series that would feature a classic b/f couple (whatever that means today). “Plica” is something similar to “H&H”, but with less emphasis on b/f relationship. Well, still in the realm of realism there is also “Secret Garden”, which is about a female&female-to-male couple, plus “Sweet Blue Flowers”, which develops slowly on the yuri side but has some slightly butchy characters (but neither of above two a classic b/f, I guess… whatever that means; though I think “Sweet Blue…” is close). “Kaguya Hime” seems to have b/f potential, but I didn`t really look into it much. Get “Plica” and “Sweet Blue Flowers” from Lililicious, and “Secret Garden” as well as “Kaguya Hime” should be in Ren`s top-secret stash (go to “Yuri Manga” folder, its index has two pages).
You could also ask Erica on okazu.blogspot.com, they`re recently on topic of strong female leads, so I guess it would be all right to ask via comment (local search for “butch femme” returns Honey&Honey, Yamaji Ebine`s stuff which is actually mentioned as an anti-example, as well as some not really related posts); if you ask nicely by e-mail then she`ll probably answer, too… ^-^
@Winterbraid
Yah, maybe a weighted average would make more sense. =)
@Chacha-chan
Sure, I’m open to suggestions about manga if you have something specific in mind.
Chacha-chan: Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon are kind of a butch-femme couple. You could check out both the official manga and all the doujinshi that’s out there of them.
Also: Wedding Bells Are Ringing, a one-shot from Mist magazine, has a butch-femme couple. Some of Minami Q-ta’s yuri works have couples that are kind of butch-femme. Rio from Pieta is a little butch. The heroine of That’s Why I Sigh is kind of butch, too, as is one of the girls from color color (from Water). See Lililicious for all of those.
Anata to Scandal has a girl who’s in love with a girl she mistook for a guy, but they’re not a couple. I’ll be able to give you a working download link for that next week.
Winterbraid: Honey & Honey isn’t a 4-koma manga. Maybe you’re thinking of Plica.
@Anonymous: True, I looked into it again now and turns out it isn`t. I wasn`t thinking of Plica, but somehow I was convinced the entire Honey&Honey was 4-koma, while 4-koma is only about 5% of it. ^-^;;
On second thought, I believe that a classic (i.e. meeting strict criteria dating back to the first half of the previous century, which don`t really make sense to me) butch-femme couple is scarce in m&a. Well, first of all it is really a kind of a stereotype, so artists would naturally avoid it unless they want to make things easier for themselves in character development (therefore a lot of the random smut from “Mist” magazine could be classified as typical b/f), or their primary goal is an analysis of a butch-femme relationship itself (like in “H&H”). With most yuri couples, both sides have some features of a femme and some of a butch, with the exact ratio varying and dependent on the circumstances - thus making the story more interesting for the audience.
All the stories released in this pack have major spelling errors.
What font was used? I’d like to correct them myself.
Apologies, I didn’t proofread it and noticed that I spelled necktie wrong a couple times in “Bound and Open”.
Please let me know the page, panel and line of the other mistakes and I’ll tell you the font.
Chacha-chan: Here’s that link I promised for “Anata to Scandal”: http://yurizuki.net/irc_mirror.html#anata
Up through part of volume 3 has been scanlated; the yuri peters out after that volume anyway. There are a few raw scenes from later in the volume at http://yurizuki.net/anata.html
A bit of a shame “Anata to Scandal” is dead… since the beginning it was fake yuri, really, but still an enjoyable read… somehow I have a slightly weak spot for this “guts=victory” philosophy in manga… ^-^;
