Yuri Goods Fire Sale!

shijima September 6th, 2010

Items for sale

Is anyone actually interested in any of this?
If not, I was planning to get rid of it locally though I’d prefer to give stuff to a yuri fan. =)

Ok, it’s not like I’m facing bankruptcy or anything, but I do need to get rid of stuff. =)
Even after donating 6 boxes of books / manga, more remain…
I’ve already given away a lot of yuri goods,
but a lot of manga and doujin remain.

I’d prefer to sell stuff in bulk so I was planning to make a Marimite, Saki, Touhou, Type-Moon collections if people are interested.

There’s a lot of doujin I don’t want, so I’ll be updating the free section sometime soon.

Email or post if you’re interested

Comiket 77 doujinshi list

shijima January 24th, 2010

Thank you to everyone who entered the recent contest.
I’ll probably hold either another contest, sale (if people are interested) or both later this year since I need to clear inventory.
I figure character goods are fine to give away, not sure about manga or doujin since most of mine are in Japanese and of the people that visit this site, who would actually want them…
Well, there’s always donations for a tax break I guess. :p

Anyways, here’s my list of C77 doujin.

The breakdown is:
15 Saki
9 Aoishiro
8 Umineko
16 Touhou
21 Other

I bought 3 K-ON doujins for others and 1 doujin twice so this list doesn’t include those.
If anyone’s interested in translating and editing one of these, let me know and I can provide raw scans (not cropped and leveled).

Afterwards, I realized I could have bought more, especially on Day 2, but I was limited by my luggage space and also the fact that I had to lug all these doujin around for the rest of the trip. Ah well.

I also have many older doujin that haven’t been translated. They’re mostly Touhou though.

Anything that says “copy book” means that it was mostly likely printed from a copier so the quality of the paper is less and it’s normally just stapled together.
Here’s a site with a great explanation.
That doesn’t necessarily mean the story/art is worse than a printed one though.

Adult doujin are labeled as such.

Comiket Calender Contest

shijima January 16th, 2010

Edit: The correct answer is 73.
3 people had the correct answer.
The official winner is siesta34.
Thank you to everyone for entering!

This contest is for those of you that don’t have a calendar yet and would like one.
Hopefully, the contest is more random this time…

Contest

Reply to this post with your email and a guess as to the number of doujin I purchased this Comiket.
It’s just some random number but it does include doujin I bought for others, those I bought at Toranoana online and those I bought twice… ;__;

Closest person wins.
If there is a tie, winner will be selected at random from all those who are correct.

Rules

  • One entry per person.
  • Contest is open to entries outside the US.
  • Contest ends on January 23, 2010, 11:59 Pacific Standard Time.
  • Contest is open to those affliated with the site.
  • Please don’t enter if you’re not willing to give out a valid mailing address.

Prizes

One of the following.
Either

1) Touhou Set

  • 2010 Touhou Project Calendar from Toranoana (9.8 x 7.8 in, 25 x 20 cm)
Note: Bag is a little wrinkled around the handle because I was holding it for a while.
  • Bonus original card given out by Toranoana to those who shop there
  • Touhou Hanafuda Set (not from C77) (1.9 x 1.1 in, 5 x 3 cm)
  • Fugetsudo Omiyage (optional)

As promised, here’s a closeup scan of the front of the bag.

OR

2) Saki Set

  • 2010 Saki Calendar of Kana from Hakka-ya (15.7 x 11.8 in, 40 x 30 cm)
Note: Bag is in quite a beat-up condition since I was lugging it around Comiket.
Also, if you pick this prize, I’m going to have to fold the bag and calendar in half before shipping since it’s too large.
  • Saki bag and handkerchief set by Vista (7.8 x 7.8 in, 20 x 20 cm).
One side has KajuMomo, other side has Mihoko x Kana
  • KajuMomo doujin (optional - this is one of those I bought twice!)
  • Fugetsudo Omiyage (optional)

Apologies, I was going to offer the Nitroplus x Type-Moon calendar, but that’s been reserved already. :p
After the contest ends, I’ll post all the doujin I have and people can request raw scans if they’re interested in something and willing to translate and edit it since there’s no way I can get to them all. =)

Winter 2009 Contest

shijima November 22nd, 2009

Answer solved. No more entries allowed

It’s nearing the Holiday Season and about 2 weeks from when the Comiket Catalog will be released.
I’ll be on vacation for the latter half of December until the beginning of January.
Part of that time, I’ll be in Japan and I’ll be dropping by Winter Comiket so let’s have a Winter Contest again!

Contest

Read a Touhou doujin snippet and answer the following question:
Marisa gave Reimu a pile of books.
What was Marisa trying to tell Reimu?
No knowledge of Touhou is necessary to answer the question.

First person to respond to this post with the correct answer wins.
If no correct answer is posted by December 5, then I will randomly select a winner from one of the posted answers.

Rules

  • One entry per person.
  • Contest is open to entries outside the US.
  • Contest ends when either the correct answer is given or on December 5, 2010 Pacific Standard Time.
  • Contest is open to those affliated with the site.

Prizes

One of the following.
Either

1) A 100 USD gift certificate to one of JList or Akadot Retail

I’ve ordered from both in the past and they will ship internationally.
This is a great time to pick up some calendars or maybe some manga for the Winter Break?
If the winner chooses this prize, he/she need only provide a valid email address.
No other personal information is necessary.

OR

2) 100 USD worth of merchandise from Japan. I will cover shipping.

If you want doujin or goods, you can tell me the circle / series and I’ll do my best to find it for you.
I’m not willing to stand for hours on end for limited edition goods so please don’t request some super-popular circle for Comiket though. =)
However, popular circles often list their doujin on Toranoana, etc. so I can most likely order them for you from the website after Comiket is over. Unfortunately, I can’t do pre-orders because they require cash on delivery.
Obviously this prize will require a bit of coordination so please choose Prize 1) if you’re looking for a hassle-free time.

Note: This contest was inspired by NPR’s Sunday Puzzle.

aoishiro doujin - illustration collection

shijima April 10th, 2009

Download

Another doujinshi by Miyageya. 18 pages.
Contains heavy spoilers for most of the best endings of the characters so avoid if you don’t want to know!
I got spoiled myself (but the drawings were nice).

Also has another recommended song, Disc2 - Track 3
You can probably tell that this is used during some of the bad endings.

Winter 2008 Contest

shijima November 4th, 2008

Since I’ll be gone for a month, I thought I’d hold a contest and lottery in the meantime to thank everyone for their support.
You are allowed one entry to the contest and one entry to the lottery (detailed rules below).
Reply to this post with any questions or suggestions.

Contest

Reply to the Contest Answer Post and come up with an answer to the following question related to Himegami:
Why did Himeka say meeting Hyou changed her life?

Your answer can be whatever you like, humorous, serious, weird, long, short, etc.
I’m just curious as to what theories are out there.
Please fill in your name and e-mail when you reply.
Winner will be arbitrarily decided by me. :D

Lottery

To counteract the arbitrary contest, this one’s all about chance.
Winner will be randomly decided.

Rules

  • One entry per person each for the contest and lottery.
  • Contest ends November 30, 2008 Pacific Standard Time.
  • If the same person happens to win both contest and lottery, I will redo the lottery until a different person is selected.
  • Winners will be contacted by e-mail on December 1, 2008 and have 72 hours to reply with a valid mailing address. DO NOT enter if you are not willing to give a mailing address. I don’t care if it’s a P.O. Box under an assumed name or what but I DO NOT want the package returned to me.
  • Contest is open to entries outside the US.
  • Shipping will be either Priority Mail or Priority Mail International.
  • Multiple entries will result in disqualification.
  • If the winners happen to select the same prize, priority goes to the winner of the contest.
  • IPs will be recorded.

Note: For those with dynamic IP, yes, you can change it and keep creating e-mail addresses, but I don’t think the prizes are worth the effort of doing so.

Prizes

Each winner will get to choose some categories and a couple prizes from each category.
The number of categories and prizes that can be chosen will be based on the cost of the prizes picked.

Sample of Possible Prizes

All items are either new or in mint condition. I will mention which when I send out the final list of prizes.

Figures
1/8 size Kos-Mos V4 - The box is huge! The figure less so.

Stationary
Marimite Stationary

Artbooks

Clear Files
Various pencilboards, book covers, clear files.

Cups
Marimite teacup and saucer (not shown). The Naruto mug is hilarious. You fill it with hot water and an image appears on the reverse. As for the image, it’s an Iroke mug. I don’t think I need to say more.
