Yes, I really liked Katahane too.
I’m so sad that the company, Tarte, went out of business. :(
I really liked the art also.
I only skimmed through the game so I’m going to have to go through it sometime again to understand more of the story.

Thanks for translate Akaiito & Aoishiro Novel. :D
With short story about Yumei and Kei, I could understand how relationship between Kei & Yumei in the past :D Short story about Yumei & Kei, you translate from Novel or game?
I knew that Aoishiro Novel base on Yasumi’s Normal Ending with great story-line I haven’t seen before. But…the ending was so sad when I finished Yasumi’s Normal End. Syouko’s painfulness at that time make me cry so much :(

    @Natsuki-Maihime:
I believe the Akaiito short story was one of the web novel available at Akaiito official site.

    @Natsuki-MaiHime
Yep, Hazuki is right. Kaminaga-hime was a short story released a couple years after the game came out.
Yah…I agree the normal ending for Yasumi’s route was really sad. I was quite depressed myself…

    o_O
    A couple years?!
Wow… I thought it was released around the game release.
    Btw, Shijima.
Could you tell me synopsis of the other Akaiito web novel extra story?
Even after I use Google, I still hardly understand those extra story. @_@

I just finished read all of that Aoishiro web novel, and the end was depressing as all of you said.
But, I really curious what Nami doing in that island.
Did she touch the tree in Yasumi route?

“Wagahai Kitsune de Aru” (I am a fox.)
    http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/ps2/akaiito/novel/novelV101.htm
is from the perspective of a white fox who ends up staying up with a young girl when she hides in a nearby house to get out of the rain. (I think this is Obana? I couldn’t really understand the story cause the language was too difficult >__< )

“Itsuka no Hikari” (The light someday)
    http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/ps2/akaiito/novel/itsuka.htm
It’s the lyrics for the vocal version of one of the background music in Akaiito.
The website is supposed to play music (but I didn’t heard anything).
The CD was released sometime this year and also includes the vocal version of Utakata. (But I’m sure you probably already have this CD. :D)

“Hitotose no Hitohira” (One year’s leaves)
    3 parts:
Kisaragi (2nd month of lunar calendar)
    http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/ps2/akaiito/novel/novelV01.htm
Yayoi (3rd month of lunar calendar)
Uzuki (4th month of lunar calendar)
It’s a bit hard to read so I didn’t look at all of it, but it seems to take place after the game. I think Kei is reminiscing about the game. I’ll have to look at it again.

No, I don’t think Nami touched the tree. All of its power was lost after Syouko touched it.
This is only a theory but
    Show spoiler

Thank you very much for the synopsis.
Google really can’t help me understanding those section. (Exception for Itsuka no Hikari lyric)
My best guess at that time about the fox identity is Obana or Obana fox friends.
The music in Itsuka no Hikari is actually a flv file, so it might be blocked in your browser.
Because a few weeks ago when I open that page, I still heard the music.
And yeah, I think I have that cd.

    Hm…
So there are that kind of event in other routes.
At first I thought either somehow Yasumi father managed to kidnap her directly from the temple or Nami recover her memories. :p

  9. shijimaon September 5th 2008 1:24 am

Sure, np. Thanks for the tip about the music.
Your theory is entirely possible too. Mine was just a guess anyways. :)
